Performed by the Ghost Polytet, this quartet was written for a standard string quartet. It is named after a book written by Dirck Volckertsz Coornhert, a Dutch renaissance figure whom my father, a professor of history, focuses most of his studies on. I have dedicated this to my father, Gert.
